Parital Perm
A partial perm is done in the same way as a basic perm
except only part of the hair is curled. Normally the top
center section of the head.
Set
Always added to a shampoo, we will put
your hair up in curlers and set you under
the dryer or use a curling iron to give
you great looking temporary curls.
Basic Style
We will spend some extra time with you
to apply extra style using a flat-iron or
curling iron. This could give you a little
extra bounce or make your hair look sleek
and straight depending on the look you are after.
Basic Perm
A traditional perm involves wrapping sections of hair
in curlers then applying a chemical that causes the hair
to soften and ultimatly stay in the curled position.
The size of the curlers used determines how much curl you
will have after the process is finished.
Shampoo
Sit back and relax as we wash away your stress while
we wash your hair. With our shampoo service, we use
high quality products to clean your hair and massage
your scalp. A soothing shampoo is great alone or when
added to any of our services.
Relaxer
The science of a relaxer is the same as a perm.
But instead of adding curl, we are removing the
curl. The chemicals are applied to soften the hair
and the hair is straightened out. Then when the
chemicals are removed, the hair will remain in the
straightened position. People with straight hair
get perms and people with curls get their hair
straightened using a relaxer.
All Over Color
Just like it sounds, this is when a single
color is applied over all of the hair at one time.
This gives a fairly uniform look but it can pick-up
some variations from your natural hair color.
Color Frost
A frost is the process of adding color to the
hair by first pulling sections of hair through a cap
then applying color. This gives sections of hair a
different color than the base color which is protected
under the cap. This only works with a single color.
Color Weave
A color weave (usually just called a weave) is
done by taking individual strands of hair and applying
color only to that section. The newly colored hair is
protected from teh rest of the hair by wrapping it in
a protective paper or foil. This technique adds a great
deal of depth to the end result. Using a weave multiple
colors can be "woven" into the hair giving a very lively
look. This same method is used to give highlights.
French Braids
A French braid starts with three small sections of hair
near the crown of the head; these initial sections are
braided together toward the nape of the neck, gradually
adding more hair to each section as it crosses in from
the side into the center of the braid structure. The final
result incorporates all of the hair into a smoothly woven
pattern over the scalp.
Buzz Cut
Usually requested for by men, a buzz cut is a special type
of haircut that is
done with the clippers only. We don't use the scissors
at all and usually only use a single sized blade on
the clippers. Because these are so fast to do, you
get to save some money.
Color Rinse
This is a special temporary color intended to give
you a preview or cover the gray for a short time.
This includes a shampoo and lasts until the next
time you wash your hair.
High & Tight
Usually requested for by men, a "high and tight" is a basic
short hair style. Off the collar, over the ears and commonly
asked for by military personal. These take about the same amount
of time and errort as a standard haircut.
Formal Style / Up Do
A formal style (also known as an Up Do)
is a hair style that involves arranging the hair instead of
allowing it to fall freely. It is commonly associated with more elaborate
styles intended for special occasions such as a prom or wedding.
Bang or Neck Trim
Some times you don't need a full haircut. If we
don't touch the bulk of your hair and only remove
small portion of the hair from either your bangs or
the back of your neck, we consider this a light
service and save you time and money.
Specialty Braids
Hair can be braided in many ways. Some of the more unique
and difficult to perform are Corn Rows, Fish Tail and Halos.
These braids add unique looks and can have several variations.
There are many more types of braids so we only mention a few
of the most popular types here.
Hair Tinsel
Tinsel is a sparkling strip of plastic that comes
in many colors to give your hair an interesting
look with little effort. You can wash, dry and
treat the tinsel just like hair in most ways and they
don't pull out easily so they last for months. Weather
you have just one strand or dozens, you will love the
look and attention you get when you wear hair tinsel.
Shadow Box
This is a method of coloring the hair around
the edges instead of all over or as a weave.
Often this is applied around the face area leaving
the remainder of the hair another color. Some times
this may also be applied to the ends of the hair.
In any case, the intent is to create a frame or box
that is of a differnet color than the rest of the hair.
Blow Dry
Some times you want your hair to be
dry before you head out of the salon.
We use hand held blow dryers and brushes
to get you looking nice and feeling dry.
Spiral Perm
Like a basic perm, curlers are added to the
hair and chemicals are applied to cause the hair to
take the shape of the curler. The difference is the
type of curler used. Instead of a simple round curler,
a spiral perm uses a long rod that the hair is wrapped
around in a spiral. This offers more bouncy body type
curls over a the basic perm and gives a much more
natural look.
Hair Feathers
Our feathers come in two styles. The natural feathers come
from tails of roosters and are cleaned and died. The synthetic
feathers are strands of fiber that are dies to look like feathers.
Both options are fantastic in your hair. The synthetic feathers are
softer and a little easier to work with as you maintain your hair
and they come in longer lengths. Either way you get a unique look.
Haircut
A haircut is just that, the removal of length off of your hair.
We will do our best to match the style of haircut you are after.
If you want just a little off the top or something totally new
we can make it happen for you. It often helps to bring in a picture
if you want a specific style that is different from what you
currently hage.
Corrective Color
Corrective colors are the hardest to perform as a stylist.
When someone gets their hair colored and it doesn't turn out
right, they often go to another salon to get it fixed. At this
point, the new stylist has to take a great deal of time to
attempt to take the hair from one color to another. It is the
interaction between different types of color that cause this
process to be so time consuming and difficult to perform.
Comb on Color
Comb on color is a special type of color that
is applied directly to the hair then combed through.
It is not as robust as more traditional hair colors
but it can offer reasonable results for the time
and effort it takes to apply.
Color Retouch
A color retouch is only applied to someone
that has already had an "All Over Color" and
their natural color is growing out. During the
retouch, color is applied at the roots of the
hair to cause the grow out to match the previously
added color.
Basic Style
We will spend some extra time with you
to apply extra style using a flat-iron or
curling iron. This could give you a little
extra bounce or make your hair look sleek
and straight depending on the look you are after.
Color for Men Only
We offer a special type of color just for men. Because men's
hair can be a little different, the chemical process of coloring
needs to be different as well. This special color is applied
just like an "All Over Color" for wormen but interacts with
men's hair in a special way. Because men usually have less hair
the process takes less time to apply and wash out.
